The Intelligent Reader Service Platform of ShanghaiTech University (hereinafter referred to as the eLib Platform) embeds “Today’s Campus” to provide readers with a one-stop mobile reader service platform, aiming to improve the convenience, personalization and intelligence of reader services. The eLib Platform officially entered the trial operation stage in November 2024.
The eLib Platform integrates commonly used systems for readers, including the library automation system, the library literature retrieval system, the library discussion room and personal graduate student reservation system. It interfaces with “Today’s Campus” and master data to quickly build an integrated mobile reader service platform. By newly deploying shelf layer labels and an intelligent inventory platform, it efficiently obtains accurate basic service data. By utilizing reader data, it generates personalized service reports for readers. In coordination with the optimization of the in-library reader service and management operation mechanism and centering around reader service scenarios, it realizes the integrated interaction between offline and online, enhancing the reader service experience.

Currently, the functions of the eLib Platform include: Book Finder, Book Recommendation and Purchase, Space Reservation, My Library, Contact Us, and Library Moments. The platform supports mobile retrieval of paper books, book recommendation and purchase; supports mobile query of book borrowing and renewal operations; supports mobile navigation of book retrieval routes, locating the shelf position where the book is located; supports the reservation, viewing and cancellation of mobile library spaces (discussion rooms, personal study rooms); and supports the generation of personalized reports on readers’ use of library resources (data statistics as of December 31, 2024).
